Do This and You Will Live

I learned the following message from today's sermon.

1. Deut.4:39~40
39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time.

2. 28:1~
1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:

3.10:12~13
¹² And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, ¹³ and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
--> Obeying His decrees and commands=Love

4. Matt 5:17-20
¹⁷"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. ¹⁸I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. ¹⁹Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ²⁰For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

5. Romans 13:10
¹⁰Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
--> Faith comes into reality when I love.

6. 1 John 13:18-20
¹⁸Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. ¹⁹This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence ²⁰whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
==>Faith, action, obedience, and love all go along together.
7. John 3:36
³⁶Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."^a]">[a]

8. Luke 8:15
5But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

9. Luke 6:28
²⁸bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Today, I also learned the followings in my small group meeting.
1. Humbleness-->to be used by God
2. Be sensitive to God
3. Be joyful

Boasting About Tomorrow

What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. ¹⁵Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
