My life at stake

Just random thoughts...

What do you think I should do Lord? Today I begin to wake up at 7am to get my body adjusted to my new job position.
I need to know what’s at stake and what’s most important to me at this moment. I need to wait for “my marshmallows” instead of touching them or eating them up right away.

Need to read books. Gotta finish books in my room.

Need to organize my documents and files. Massive amount of documents, newspapers, and papers in my room need to be trashed.

Need to plan ahead for my possible internship. Might get to work in Bundang and gotta look for a place to stay.

Need to study consulting. Gotta learn ways to master business basics: frameworks, strategies, etc.

Need to get ready to start dating. Gotta gather myself up for possible dates.

I just watched a movie called “Black.” I never wept so much till I watched this movie. I can name “Life is beautiful,” and some other movies but not like this movie I wept so much. Among the statements of the actors, I found many contexts quite similar to mine. I... Read More’m in the middle of my battle with finding a job in Seoul and so was the main character: She was fighting against darkness, ignorance, unworthiness, and failures. I’m going through a similar challenge: a series of rejections from companies that I’ve applied. Although the main character or teacher of her found one of core reasons for the failure, I didn’t think I haven’t found one yet. I just realized, however, while typing this appreciation paragraph, that the true essence of my failure was from my lack of courage to fight against darkness, insecurity, and rejections from people.
From now on, I will celebrate my failures whenever I get rejection in my application process. Thank God for allowing me to see this movie today on my way to Seoul. Otherwise I might have deleted the movie on my laptop. Help me to overcome this difficult job application process.

I only have 3 hours: 1 hour for file management, 1 hour for planning for interview and test, and 1 hour to get ready for tomorrow.

Realized that I need to prepare myself for the future. If I applied to Korean companies while studying in the U.S., I probably have been better off for the things that I'm going through right now. However, I didn't prepare myself and I wasn't even earnestly attempted to see my future, I now am living in misery.

Preparing for an MBA degree is the same. I could have started GMAT preparation earlier than this year but I'm now stuck in job application and other things in life.

I need to get myself ready; see things coming at me in a moment; see the waves of tsunami before it reaches to shore and crush me.

Now I know why Dion did what he did.

A realization about life

When I was watching Doogie Howser, M.D. treating an emergency situation at ER, there was a lightening bolt kind of realization struck in my head. Emergency is not only just applied to medical specialists but also to other parts of life such as HCI (human computer interaction) or marketing sector. If time is like breath in life, I better treat myself curing businesses and malpractices with my marketing skills.

A lesson

From yesterday at my church, I learned a great lesson in life. The quality of being capable, reasonable, and wise is the most important factors in human capital. Watching people, pastor, MCs, and performers at With You Concert challenged me to change what I do and who I am at present. I become to understand now why God chooses a man with humble heart and appropriate preparation.

Persist through CRAP!

One of the TED talk was Secrets of Success in 8 Words and the speaker stated that you gotta persist through CRAP (Criticism, Rejection, Assholes, Pressures).

1. Boost up my cardios by exercising at least 3 times a week.
2. Priority takes place as follows: job search > health and capability development>functions as a family member and friend. For the job search, 1) redefine what I wish to accomplish in life 2) find my talentsIn mission statement, put down things that I would like to achieve within 5 years (organize my talents). Put down scalable goals.
3. Learn how to lead a group meeting (be sensitive the atmosphere of the group and be considerate of the participants mental situation)
4. Read mission statement every morning.

Seed, fruit, honesty, process

Believe and obey, priority, and a stat

God wants me to believe His words and obey.

What are the areas of my life that I put higher priority above God?
1. Playing games 2. Porn 3. Myself ?

Missionary Esther mentioned that 90% of American Christians are no different than non American Christians. I was shocked. Where are the areas that I do the same? Sex, etc?

Lord, forgive me for the things that I've done. Let me be like you.

Devotional: Pleasure seeker=poverty

1. "He who loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and oil will never be rich."
I realized that I have been heading toward a wrong direction in life. I have been seeking for earthly pleasure such as porn and game. God wants me to quit those two. He loves me and He wants me back.

2. Lord, please let me be "he who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Righteousness is the key in life. What should I do to become righteous? I pursue rightesouness and love! I pursue righteousness and love! I pursue righteousness and love!

3. "The slugggard's crafving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work. " I love work! I love work! I love work!

4. The proud and arrogant man=="Mocker" is his name; he behaves with overweening pride." I'm a humble man! No pride and arrogance will remain in my life.

A new finding

Isn't life supposed to be pursuing the goal instead of little things happening aside the way?

I went to San Diego Zoo yesterday and Ben and I took SkyFari, an air gondola tour. At first, I was afraid of little rattling sounds and physical shaking because I was focusing on what was happening around me instead of enjoying the goal that I had, which is to overview of the zoo. The funny phenomenon was that the more I focus on the rattling nature of gondola, the more I get afraid of the tour although the experience was supposed to be fun and rewarding. After all, I changed my focus to the zoo and started browsing over the zoo. From that moment to the end of the tour, I was able to reach a moment of solace and comfort even though I was high in the air.

The lesson is that I need to set up goal in my life. And that process starts today the January 1st.
